When Emma would log onto Facebook she'd notice how she was never happy with her husband and life. Her husband, Jordan Jones Jr., was never home with her and so Emma decided to change that. Later she got into an argument with Josh. Josh bought up the idea of how they're not supposed to change their futures. He says one ripple in the present could change a lot in the future. Emma just thought Josh was angry because he didn't know whether he was still married to Sydney Mills. She couldn't immediately jump to that conclusion because it might not have been true.
Emma kept trying and trying to change her future so many times. She just needed to understand that she shouldn't change anything. She always could but that doesn't mean she should. She just wanted to be happy but she just can't keep trying to control her future all the time. She tends to do it constantly. Josh has known this and hasn't tried to change anything in his future. Then again he's rich, has a job, and is married to Sydney Mills. But still Emma just had to accept her future and not complain at all. She shouldn't have changed without think about the outcome.

When Josh checked his Facebook profile, it said he didn't have twins. It said Sydney was pregnant for the first time. Emma had changed her future but also changed Josh's. She completely focused on her future and didn't think about Josh for a moment. She just changed it and know look what she did to Josh's future.
So in other words, a theme for this book should be that we cannot control our future no matter how much we want to. We think that we can change it and try to make it better but we actually can't. You will never really know if you change your future by one event. If you do you'll never know whether the outcome is good or bad. Trying to change our future is not the best thing to do. You may think it's a good thing to do and sometimes you might think it's the right thing to do but you should know that it's really not.

ReplyDeleteI actually believe that the theme in this book is that you can change the future and that you can right your wrongs in the present. Emma rejected Josh, a wrong, and she likes Cody, a boy who turns out not to be as great as Emma thought he was. Josh tries to fall for Sydney Mills, but he knows that he still has feelings for Emma. When they both right their wrongs the browser disappears, and their future is changed.
